XRP vs Bitcoin: Which is Better?
A recent debate has been going on about XRP and Bitcoin (BTC). While some people claim that Bitcoin is the revolution of cryptocurrency, others believe that XRP is more popular with its 400 times faster service. Several users and experts have recently debated their opposing views on XRP and BTC. As Bitcoin is currently the most popular cryptocurrency with the ability to store long-term value, it is also called “digital gold”.
However, XRP experts believe that Bitcoin is slower than XRP because XRP has attracted many banks thanks to its ability to make fast international payments, low costs with transaction settlement times of 3 to 5 seconds and fees of less than a penny.
Recently, a Bitcoin analyst, Adam Livingstone, criticized XRP investors on X saying, “You bought into a pre-mined banking scam run by a bunch of old people in khakis at a WeWork office who pay you monthly like it’s a bodily function.”
“You are not a crypto investor. You are a victim of Stockholm Syndrome, a form of financial abuse,” he added.
But one XRP investor pushed back on the above sentiment, replying: “Calling XRP a scam is pure ignorance in the crypto industry and/or psychological issues masked by denial. Each side can play a role in this space, so why deny the other?”
He also argued that if MicroStrategy (MSTR) had invested in XRP instead of BTC, their return on investment would be much higher now.
Could MicroStrategy's XRP Investment Be Worth $100 Billion?
By June 2025, MSTR became the world's largest Bitcoin holding company. However, XRP proponents argue that the company's portfolio could have been worth more than $100 billion if it had invested $33.1 billion in XRP.
Over the past 5 years, Bitcoin has increased by about 894% while XRP has increased by about 986%. With the increase in institutional adoption and financial efficiency, investors will be pleased and impressed if MSTR follows the XRP investment path.
