Strategy – the company founded by Michael Saylor – has a tradition of announcing Bitcoin purchases at the beginning of each week and rarely misses this habit.
Recently, on Monday, as usual, Strategy announced the purchase of an additional 525 BTC, worth more than $60 million. The average price of this transaction was around $114,562 per BTC.
This Bitcoin purchase by Strategy is considered quite small compared to previous "collection" rounds.
As of last week, Strategy has purchased nearly 2,000 BTC worth close to $220 million, while some purchases earlier this year exceeded $1 billion.
To date, Strategy remains one of the few companies that dares to buy BTC every week. At the time of writing, the company holds a total of 638,985 BTC – ranking number one in the top companies holding the most BTC.
Currently, the above BTC is worth more than $73 billion, meaning that Strategy is holding a huge profit of more than $25 billion (at least on paper) because the purchase price was about $47.23 billion.
Strategy started accumulating BTC in the summer of 2020 and has become the largest BTC holder, surpassing many big names in the crypto industry such as Marathon Digital Holdings and many other companies around the world.
