Tom Lee: Bitcoin Could Hit $150,000 This Year
Veteran investor Tom Lee (Chief Investment Officer of Fundstrat) believes that Bitcoin could increase at least 41% from where it is now, reaching $150,000 before the end of 2025 .
In an interview with CNBC, he said Bitcoin price is responding positively to the rising wave of global liquidity and expectations that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will lower interest rates next year , adding more momentum to the market.
Supply is scarce, potential demand is still very large
According to statistics from Bitwise cited by Lee, currently 95% of Bitcoin has been mined , but 95% of the world's population still does not own BTC .
This shows a serious imbalance between supply and demand , creating huge room for prices to rise in the long term .
Tom Lee commented:
“I think Bitcoin could hit $150,000 this year, or even $200,000 or $250,000, if the money continues to flow into digital assets.”
Bitcoin Price Could Surpass $1 Million in the Long Term
Not only optimistic in the short term, Tom Lee also believes that Bitcoin can completely reach a price of 1.2 to 3 million USD in the future .
He explained:
“The network value of Bitcoin should be at least equal to that of gold, which is currently worth about $23 trillion. Each Bitcoin could be worth $1.2 million, and I believe it would be worth more than gold, so $2 million to $3 million is entirely possible.”
Currently, Bitcoin is trading around the $105,900 mark .
